Hello! I am Trudy Campbell, pastry chef and owner of Trudy Melissa Cakes. Based in Tampa, I specialize in handcrafted confections and wedding cakes for the modern couple. When not baking or meeting clients for a cake testing, I enjoy traveling and finding inspiration in the smallest details around the world.
I spent the first half of my professional career in the veterinary field before turning my attention from furry friends to the sweet life. After deciding to pursue my pastry career full time I attended the French Pastry School in Chicago where I completed the L’Art du Gâteau Program in 2012. Soon thereafter, I launched Trudy Melissa Cakes.
My approach is personal and my motto is quality over quantity. When you book with me, you – and your cake – get the attention your event deserves. I accept only two cake orders per weekend, allowing ample opportunity to spend time crafting a luxurious, unique, and entirely enchanting confection.
When it comes to celebrating a wedding or special event, savoring the sweet moments matters. From simple elegance to elaborate elements, I enjoy working on the finer details – such as delicate gold leaf embellishments and handcrafted sugar flowers. The result is more than a cake, it is edible art. Embodying romance and sweet luxury, each cake I create is as unique as each couple and client.
